2026 Ram 1500 Updates

While there are a handful of updates for the new model year, the 2026 Ram 1500 HEMI V-8 return tops the list. This is one of the most exciting developments for the 2026 lineup, and one that shows how well the brand listens to the needs and wants of consumers.

The 2025 Ram 1500 came with a totally refreshed powertrain and trim lineup, and along with that was the discontinuation of the popular HEMI V-8. Although the new (and efficient) 3.0-liter Hurricane engine options provided drivers with more choices throughout the trim lineup, many missed the power and roar of the 5.7-liter V-8 engine. For 2026, you can get this engine in the Tradesman, Big Horn, Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Limited, and Longhorn trim levels, depending on configuration.

Speaking of trims, another new update for the 2026 model year is the introduction of the Ram 1500 Express model. This trim sits right above the Tradesman in the model lineup and features a monochromatic black paint scheme. You can find the full range of trim levels at our Ram 1500 dealer in Jacksonville, FL.

The Express trim might be new to the Ram 1500 lineup, but it isn't a new trim or name to the Ram truck brand. The Express has been around in some shape or form for quite a while, as a trim on the now-discontinued Ram 1500 Classic, and before that in the 1930s and 1940s.

2026 Ram 1500 Specs and Performance

The standard engine in the 2026 Ram 1500 for sale is the trusty 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. This engine makes 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. As far as towing goes, this engine offers the least amount of capability at 8,130 pounds. However, in terms of payload, this engine gives you the most with up to 2,360 pounds.

There are three other engine options, depending on the trim.

First is the six-cylinder 3.0-liter Hurricane diesel engine. This inline powertrain makes 420 horsepower, 469 pound-feet, and can tow up to 11,610 pounds when properly equipped. A high-output version of this engine is also available. The 3.0-liter H.O. Hurricane engine makes 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque and can tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Last but not least, the available 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine offers up to 395 horsepower, 410 pound-feet of torque, and can tow up to 11,320 pounds with the proper configuration and equipment.

The Tradesman is a no-frills truck that's ideal for work or for drivers who don't want a bunch of extra amenities. These trims come with everything you need to get jobs done and be comfortable while doing them – and driving home. Standard perks include an integrated Class IV trailer hitch, LED headlamps, in-floor storage in Crew Cab models, best-in-class rear legroom in Crew Cab models, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a ParkView Rear Backup Camera, remote vehicle start, and safety tech like Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure Warning.

The Express model adds more available features and blacked-out styling, while the Warlock trim adds a raised suspension and Bilstein® shocks. The Ram 1500 Big Horn trim is a great balance of value and comfort with added perks like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and available heated seats.

The Laramie model adds more tech with a 12-inch touchscreen and available options like a passenger touchscreen display. For drivers who want rebellious performance, the Rebel variant delivers with a raised suspension, multiple engine choices, skid plates, and a sport performance hood.

The RHO model goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, is off-road-ready with skid plates, tow hooks, and a 2-inch raised height, has all-terrain tires, and is ultimately a trail-tackling beast. Moving up to the Limited and Limited Longhorn trims adds more luxuries that are suited for creature-comfort enthusiasts.

Finally, the top-tier Tungsten is ideal for drivers who want the best of the best in terms of comfort and tech with massaging seats, a 14.4-inch touchscreen, heated and ventilated seats, and a long list of other perks.

2026 Ram 1500 Exterior

Although it's changed throughout the years, the exterior of the Ram 1500 truck is easily discernible from other brands on the market. Its large hood, domineering stance, and eye-catching details make it easy to spot. Depending on the trim, the Ram 1500 truck takes on a variety of appearances. The Express model is all blacked out, while the Rebel and RHO trims look like they're ready for a challenge. Top-tier models like Limited, Longhorn, and Tungsten gleam with chrome accents and have a refined yet strong aesthetic.

But looks aren't everything. The exterior of the Ram 1500 truck is functional and utilitarian, too. Certain models feature a customizable LED walk-up animation with an exterior light carpet, and LED headlights, taillights, and fog lamps help you see and be seen.

Its exclusive RamBox Cargo Management system in the bed sidewalls allows you to store gear in a weatherproof lockable box that is well-lit and also has a 115-volt AC power outlet.
